Created by Dominique Ropion — the same perfumer behind Armani Acqua di Gioia and Lancôme Miracle — it opens with Bergamot, Aldehydes and Ginger. Aldehydes are the organic molecules responsible for the luminous, soapy brightness of classic Chanel-era perfumery — they add a crystalline quality to the bergamot here that lifts the opening beyond a standard citrus and gives it a particular radiance. Ginger adds a dry, warming spice that stops the opening from reading as purely cool and clean.

The heart of French Lavender, Clary Sage and Madagascan Geranium is a classic fougere heart executed with precision. French Lavender rather than generic lavender has a more refined, slightly more herbal and less sweet character. Clary Sage — used also in Versace Pour Homme — adds a dry, clean aromatic depth. Madagascan Geranium, sourced from one of the world’s finest geranium-producing regions, has a rosy, slightly minty freshness that bridges the lavender and the cedar base. The base is the most unexpected part of the composition: Cedarwood, Ambergris and Vanilla are expected, but Olibanum — frankincense resin — is a rare and sophisticated addition for a mainstream men’s EDT. It adds a very subtle dry, slightly smoky, resinous warmth to the drydown that gives Y a quiet depth and longevity that lighter fresh fougeres often lack. How to Apply

Apply to pulse points — wrists, neck, chest. The bergamot and aldehyde opening settles within fifteen minutes into the lavender and clary sage heart — the olibanum and cedar base develops steadily for four to six hours of clean, fresh wear.
