The opening of Neroli and Raspberry is the most directly contrasting two-note top in the session — Neroli’s clean, softly floral, slightly honeyed citrus-blossom quality from the bitter orange tree (which also opened Gucci Bloom EDP) set against Raspberry’s warm, bright, slightly tart berry sweetness. Raspberry has appeared before in the collection — in the base of Cool Water Woman, where it was a warm, soft base-note contribution — but here in the top it is considerably brighter and more sparkling, the most immediate and vivid note in the opening before the Neroli’s floral softness settles alongside it. The heart of Rose and Peony — the two florals that have recurred most consistently throughout the session — is here at its most uncluttered: no Jasmine competing for attention, no Tuberose adding richness, no spices or green notes introducing complexity. Rose and Peony alone, in the space that the lean composition gives them, allow each to express its full character: Rose’s classic, slightly honeyed, deeply complex floral warmth; Peony’s softer, more powdery, lighter freshness returning from Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue, Miss Dior EDP and Good Girl Blush, here in the most prominent and unshared position of its appearances. The base of Vanilla and Musk is clean, warm and skin-close — two notes working together as they have across the collection, here without Sandalwood, Tonka Bean or any woody element to add structure; the result is a softer, more intimate drydown that stays close to the skin rather than projecting outward, giving Because It’s You its characteristic warmth and personal quality in wear.

How to Apply

Apply to pulse points — wrists, neck, décolletage. The clean, open composition means Because It’s You has a lighter projection than many of the denser florals in the collection — two to three sprays allows the full Neroli and Raspberry opening to develop before the Rose and Peony heart arrives within ten minutes. The Vanilla and Musk base is skin-close and lasts six to eight hours, longest on areas of natural warmth.
